Your personal information is used by Auralex in the following ways:

Sensitive data

User data submitted through the Payment Portal is considered “Sensitive Data.” This data is stored on secure servers managed by PayPal and VeriSign. Security measures
We value your privacy and peace of mind. We protect the personal information you share with us. Access to your personal information is limited to people who need it to do their job. All information is stored on secure servers and/or managed by third party data collectors (in the case of email marketing).

If we need to ship something to you, we must share your name and address with a shipping company. We limit such third parties in their access and use of your information. Otherwise, we do not share your personal information with third parties, unless you have granted us permission to do so.

“Cookies” are files often used by companies to record user activity and measure which web site areas are of popular interest. They can also allow the user to customize certain features or content provided by the site. Cookies are stored on your computer and retrieved by the web server. You may customize your browser not to accept new cookies, to notify you when you receive a new cookie, and to disable cookies altogether. At this point in time, the Auralex website only uses Cookies for comment logins.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


Although pictures uploaded to the Personalized Room Analysis Service are not public, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included if you do not want to share this information. Most photos taken with smartphones include this sort of location data, so it is up to the user to remove this information before upload, if they chose to do so. These pictures are treated just like any user data and stored on secure servers. The information is used by our application specialists to determine the best course of action to treat your room. Information may be shared with Auralex-affiliated dealers or representatives if necessary, but will not be shared with any outside third party without consent of the user.

Occasionally, we provide links to other sites. Since we do not control these web sites, we encourage you to review the privacy policies posted on these (and all) other sites.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Who we share your data with

If your project meets the criteria necessary to involve others outside Auralex your information may be shared with Auralex-affiliated dealers and representatives. Outside third party interaction is kept to a minimum as much as possible (such as shipping companies), is only used when absolutely necessary, and with the consent of the user.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have submitted a Personalized Room Analysis, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
