Bass Traps
Have you ever noticed that when music is being played in another room you tend to hear the bass louder and more clearly than the rest of the song? There is a reason for this: Bass Frequencies are long wavelengths, they can more easily penetrate structures and travel long distances. But what does this mean for your listening room or home studio? If the length of in your room is 12 feet or less, a wave lower than 80Hz cannot fully develop in your space. That means you aren’t hearing the whole mix and even worse, you could be hearing it inaccurately due to Bass Build-up, or cancellation. Using Bass Traps as part of your absorptive treatment plan is the answer to creating a faithful critical listening environment.
While Bass Trapping is an important piece of acoustical treatment, make sure to complete your room plan by also including our Absorption, Diffusion, and ISO Series® products in order to maximize the effectiveness of your total treatment system. Additionally, our Construction/Isolation products can be used for sound isolation of a space.
